Just the Essentials
I'm heading home to see my folks this weekend and I thought it'd be timely to share some of my favorite travel picks for this season. I love the weather in New England in the fall. There's a chill in the air but it's just warm enough to get away with wearing a chunky sweater instead of a jacket. Pair that with a cup of hot cider and you're going to be hard pressed to convince me to come back to the city. Here's what my picture perfect weekender is carrying:
ONE I love a good knit sweater. The Lambswool Pointelle Sweater is perfect for layering.
TWO I am always cold when I travel. I'm on the hunt for the perfect oversize cashmere scarf that can double as a blanket when necessary. Perhaps one that is slightly more affordable than this one? Maybe this one would be just fine.
THREE These sunglasses have me smitten. It seems that their simplicity and unique shape would make them the perfect finishing touch to any look.
FOUR I'm always looking for places to stash my headphones, spare change, mints, etc. for easy access. I could find countless uses for this travel case set.
FIVE I have to be careful which shoes I wear now that marathon training is in full force. When I change out of my running sneakers, these vintage-inspired kicks seem like the perfect mix of casual and athletic, with enough support that I don't have to worry about injury.
SIX I make a habit of planning my next trip as the plane's wheels touch the runway. Cereal Magazine always has the most inspiring travel photographs.
