Another F*ing 26.2

So I did it. I signed up for my second NYC Marathon for November 2014. If you're not a runner, you're probably wondering, "How far is that again?" And if you are a runner, you're questioning why I would ever consider giving up my automatic entry after completing the NYRR 9+1 program. But look me in that eye during that 16 mile training run in mid-August, in the 80 degree heat, and that look will say it all. It's a commitment — time, energy, strength, and endurance.

And I spent A LOT of time in my head. I remember the hours upon hours of training, coaxing my body and mind to put one foot in front of the other, to just keep going. Running has taught me so much about myself, but overall it has taught me to listen to my gut. And this year my gut said…just keep going.
