WANDERLUST: Ojai Rancho Inn

I have a habit of going, going, going in the summer. But as much as I enjoy squeezing as many things as humanly possible into these three months, sometimes I have to remind myself to take a breather. Now I make a conscious choice — is this a 'see and do things' vacation or a 'relax by the pool' kind of trip?

For anyone looking for the latter, this may be the place for you. I was immediately taken with Molly's photos from Ojai, a town about an hour and half away from L.A. She stayed at the Ojai Rancho Inn, whose humble accommodations run approximately $150/night. I appreciate its no frills atmosphere which she explains reminded her a lot of sleep away camp, rather than a boutique hotel. Her photos capture the relaxed, carefree vibe perfectly, complete with playing board games and meandering through local shops.

I've realized that it's not always where you choose to go, but the atmosphere once you get there that can make or break a getaway. This seems like the perfect place for R&R and not a whole lot else (in a good way). Pro tip: give your cell phone a few days off too. You'll be glad you did.
